Taking The Long View
There aren't many places where you can watch the same train approaching for more than 20 minutes but this is one. QJ 7112 and QJ 6735 were approaching Hadashan with an eastbound freight on 5 September 2003.The train had first come into view just in front of the distant hills, then made its way up the valley to Xiakengzi, around the lower horseshoe, up to Simingyi Viaduct then round through Tunnel 1 before passing the camera. Xiakengzi is clearly visible above the right hand end of the viaduct and the line can be traced back down the valley by following the scars on the hillside.
