Photography on Chinese stations can be tricky, even now. In 1984 night photography was practically unheard of, yet somehow TEFS managed to arrange it at Jilin while we waited for our overnight train to Fushun.
Actually photographing anything was a different matter. Most arriving trains would lose their engines long before a tripod could be set up, let alone a picture taken. Fortunately, SL 670 stayed with its train long enough to be recorded.
