The opencast mine at Pingzhuang was electrified and worked by a fleet of EL2 1500V DC Bo-Bo electrics built by LEW Hennigsdorf in East Germany. The whole operation stopped for a couple of hours at lunchtime on 18 November 2011. EL2s 7324, 7362 and 7370 were found in the yard behind the washery, awaiting the call to duty after the lunchbreak.
