QJ 1764 approached the summit of the climb from Nancha with train 533/532, the 06:35 Jiamusi to Wuying passenger, on 27 February 1989. The train was banked by QJ 283, out of sight around the curve but betrayed by its exhaust. Note the uniform rake of Type 22 coaches, a sight that became more common around 1990 as stock from the pre-Liberation era was replaced.
