The semaphore signals at most stations on the Ji-Tong railway added a lot to the character of the line. In a country where colour lights had been the norm for many years, it's remarkable that a line built in the 1990's was equipped with proper signals. QJ 7041 & 6356 worked into Liudigou with a long westbound freight on 29 September 2002.
The semaphores didn't last long after the end of steam working in 2005. By autumn 2006, every station on the Pass had been re-equipped with colour lights.
