QJ 6230 and QJ 6630 emerged from Tunnel 2 with train 22845, the 08:10 Haoluku to Daban goods, on 24 February 2003. QJ 6230 was withdrawn a few months later but soon returned to service after being fitted with the boiler from QJ 7030. The resulting engine took QJ 7030's number and remained in traffic until the end of JiTong steam in late 2005.
