The most impressive workings at Zhalainuoer were the loaded spoil trains that take waste rock from deep in the mine to the spoil tips on the surface. Whereas coal trains are limited to six wagons by the capacity of the unloading shed and only have to climb partway to the surface, the spoil workings load to ten wagons and go all the way to the top. SY 0682 is seen here working flat out to shove its loaded train up one of the ramps leading to the surface on 9 March 2005.
