Cuba wasn't renowned for scenic photo locations. Most sugar cane was grown on the flatter parts of the island where it could be mechanically harvested and the mills tended to be close by. Rafael Freyre was rather different and boasted some superb photspots. One of the best was the hill overlooking the curve at Barjay.
Number 1386, a 2'6" gauge Baldwin 2-8-0 of 1919 vintage dragged a long train of loads through Barjay on its way back to the mill on 16 March 1996.
