CD didn't have as many modern bogie railcars as it would like and each depot was allocated just enough to operate its duties with few spares. Unavailable railcars were usually covered by loco hauled trains, often powered by class 742 diesels. It was unusual not to see one of these substitutions if you spent any time on a line with regular railcar workings.
Red and yellow 742.205 paired with a couple of red and cream trailers made a nice change from the usual green/grey 754s and railcars when it worked Os3105, the 11:15 Valassske Mezirici to Ostrava stopper, on 8 April 2008.
