The class 720 and 721 "Hectors" were among the earliest Czech diesels and most were withdrawn years ago. A handful survived much longer but saw very little use. To find a Hector in traffic in 2006 was remarkable enough but to find one powering a EuroCity express was little short of a miracle.
On 20 January 2006, 721.152 pushed EC279, the 07:37 Praha - Budapest express, through a dead electrical section at the east end of Ceska Trebova station.
