ABe8/12 No.3501 climbed from Klosters to Cavadürli with RE1033, the 10:47 from Landquart to Davos Platz, on 23 February 2011.
No.3501 was the first of 15 3-car articulated EMUs that took over almost all passenger services on the Arosa, Bernina and Landquart - Davos routes from late 2010. Another 5 similar 4-car units designed for local services around Chur and Landquart followed, entering service in 2013. Another 56 units of a similar but modified design are in the process of delivery and will almost eliminate the use of loco hauled passengers on the RhB, apart from the Chur - St Moritz route.
