Although Zentralbahn's Class 101 electrics used to work IR trains between Meiringen and Interlaken, they hadn't been regular visitors to the western section of the Brünigbahn for several years. So it was a surprise to see 101.967 working the 14:04 Interlaken - Luzern service, IR2225, on 14 July 2013. The loco was approaching Meiringen with a push-pull set and would soon propel the train up the rack section to the summit of the Brünig Pass.
