The Glacier Express is actually a series of trains rather than a single working. Two trains originate at St Moritz and one each at Chur and Davos. From Chur to Disentis the first St Moritz section runs combined with the Chur section and the second St Moritz section runs an hour later combined with the Davos section. At Disentis the sections are split again and run to Zermatt as four individual trains.
This picture shows Re4/4II 614 working the second train west towards Ilanz on 8 October 2007. The first two vehicles are RhB restaurant cars that will be detached at Disentis.
