Undoubtedly the most stylish (and probably the most expensive) way to see the Gotthard is from the beautifully restored Wagon-Lits coaches of the Venice-Simplon-Orient Express. From December 2016 it may be one of the few remaining ways to see the line from a locomotive hauled train.
