Two Generations
German locomotive designs were well represented in Turkey right up to the end of steam working. Here two generations of German freight engines can be seen getting the 05:40 Alasehir - Afyon mixed underway after its stop at Inay, between Esme and Usak, on 11 April 1984. The leading loco was 55044, one of 49 0-10-0s built to the Prussian G10 design by various builders between 1924 and 1928. The train engine was 56502, one of 53 'Kriegsloks' supplied to Turkey by Germany during the Second World War.
