After a very shaky start to their careers, the class 458 EMUs were eventually sorted out and became very reliable performers. In 2010 the fleet excelled itself becoming the very first class of unit to average over 100,000 miles between failures. 458.009 and 458.008 took the Waterloo line south of wokingham with 2C46, the 14:54 from Reading to Waterloo, on 18 May 2014.
